Festivals bring with them joy and tons of learning opportunities for the kids. But, this Eid may be a little different with the covid social distancing rules in place. Nonetheless, let’s cheer up and make this Eid a memorable one for our kids. So, here are some learning activities for kids on Eid.

Making Eid Mubarak Greeting Cards:

This Eid, sit down with your child to send good wishes cards to your friends and family. First, to do this activity you may need chart paper, paints, and some glitter. Secondly, pick up Eid wishes quotes from the internet and make a lovely festival card. Thirdly, during this activity talk to your child about what he/she would like to write down, draw, and color. Lastly, you can ask questions, model speech, and work on writing skills during this activity.

Eid puzzle is an excellent activity to keep the children engaged at home. In other words, you can use a crossword puzzle game or simply download an Eid crossword puzzle from the internet. Moreover, discover and learn new words along with your child. Hence, this activity will promote learning vocabulary, reading words, and phonics and improve your child’s overall attention. Additionally, you may also have a points scoreboard for the kids to make it interesting.

Read and Enact an Eid Story:

We all love storybooks! Therefore, get all the children together and read a book to them. In other words, you can also read the book along with your child. Additionally, to make the story book reading interesting, get the kids to enact the story and play various characters. Furthermore, enacting Eid stories are a great way to improve communication, social skills, turn-taking, and following directions.

Eid is a time when all children receive gifts! So, get a fancy bag and put all the gifts received by the kids inside. Then, encourage your child to pick up one gift and say 2 lines about what he/she likes about the item. Additionally, you can model correct speech, improve sentence length and work on spontaneous communication.

Eid Henna Activity:

All girls love henna on Eid. Let’s make this a learning opportunity for your child. Pick up a paper and draw an outline of your hand on it. Now, encourage your child to take colors, crayons, or henna cones and draw patterns on the paper. This activity will help to work on fine motor skills, writing, and creative thinking.
