1,500 special kids compete in state competitions

The Punjab Education Department’s state competitions for kids with “special” needs came to an end today at Guru Nanak Stadium. Over 1,500 special kids from all during the state participated in games including football, badminton, athletics, and volleyball over the course of the two-day event, which promoted the idea of “sports for all.”

Host Ludhiana won the majority of the competition’s titles and was declared the overall winner, while Jalandhar and Fatehgarh Sahib placed second and third, respectively.
The main guests at the award ceremony were Amandeep Kaur, Assistant Director, DGSE, and Swatantar Kaur, Assistant State Project Director (ASPD). The winners of the positions received the rewards.

The term “inclusive education” refers to a method of teaching in which children with special needs are completely integrated into regular classrooms with classmates their own age.
